A previous win over AFC Leopards failed to inspire Homeboyz in their Saturday duty.

Talanta registered their ninth win of the season after defeating Kakamega Homeboyz 1-0 in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League match at Kasarani.

Consequently, Homeboyz - this season’s FKF Cup finalist - suffered their 12th loss of the season.

Homeboyz had the first chance that would have broken the deadlock, but they did not fully utilize it. Chris Mazinsa did well to set Moses Shuma through on goal, but the latter sent his effort wide from close range.

After failing to score on their 10th-minute chance, Homeboyz conceded in the 17th minute when Talanta took an unlikely lead.

Another chance to find the back of the net came in the 25th minute, but Brian Eshihanda, at the edge of the box, ended up hitting the side netting.

For the second time, Shuma could not score when he wasted a 36th-minute chance. Kevin Amwayi did well to deliver a pinpoint cross, but Shuma was not clinical enough as he failed to perfectly connect with the cross.

Homeboyz made their first change in the 46th minute with the introduction of Felician Okanda as Ambrose Sifuna was withdrawn, before a second change saw Enock Agwanda replace Shuma.

Two changes were made in the 68th minute when Amwayi and Masinzza were replaced by Gaetan Masha and Vincent Ogolla.

At Mbaraki Stadium, Bandari managed to squeeze past Wazito with a 1-0 win.

Hassan Abdalla scored the opening goal in the opening stages of the first half to stun the struggling Wazito. This is the 10th goal for the Harambee Stars’ forward, who also has nine assists in the season already.

The Dockers almost claimed the second goal in the 66th-minute, but Umar Kasumba’s shot from a promising spot was stopped by Wazito goalkeeper.

Twahir Muhiddin made three changes in the 70th minute when William Wadri, Douglas Mokaya, and Omar Somobwana were rested and James Kinyanjui, Enock Machaka, and Amos Asembeka were brought on.

These changes did not have much impact on the game, as the scoreline remained just as it was before their introduction.
