Liverpool are reportedly ready to break their own transfer record for the second time this month with a big-money bid for a Premier League striker.

After several quiet summer transfer windows, Liverpool have dramatically shifted their approach in 2025.

Having already invested €206 million in Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz, and Milos Kerkez, the Reds show no signs of slowing down and are preparing another blockbuster move.

English media report that the Premier League champions are looking to bolster their attack and have a primary target: Alexander Isak. Their interest is so strong that they are reportedly prepared to offer Newcastle, Isak's current club, over €100 million for the Swedish striker.

Liverpool's bid could even surpass the fee for Florian Wirtz, whose transfer, expected to be finalised in the coming days, is valued at over €117 million. The Reds are seemingly willing to exceed the €121 million Chelsea paid Benfica for Enzo Fernandez in 2023 – the current Premier League record.

Although Newcastle have reportedly set Isak's price tag at €150 million, Liverpool hope to secure the services of the prolific forward, who scored 27 goals last season. Isak was instrumental in Newcastle's League Cup triumph in the 2024/25 season, scoring in the 2-1 final victory against Liverpool.

A potential move for Isak would further signal the seemingly inevitable departure of Darwin Nunez from Anfield. A transfer for the Uruguayan striker to either Saudi Arabia or Napoli would likely free up funds for the pursuit of the 25-year-old Swede.

Interestingly, Nunez currently holds the record for Liverpool's most expensive signing, with the club having paid Benfica around €85 million in 2022. Both Wirtz and Isak could soon rewrite the record books.
