Barcelona president Joan Laporta acknowledges the Haaland speculation but emphasises the club's balanced team-building approach and financial limitations.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has addressed the rumours linking the club with a move for Erling Haaland amidst speculation of a Kylian Mbappe shift.

Laporta shared insights on Barcelona's transfer strategy and the importance of maintaining a balanced team, highlighting potential tweaks to the squad.

Laporta's Transfer Strategy

In an interview with Mundo Deportivo, Laporta discussed Barcelona's stance on potential big-name signings, specifically Haaland, indicating that while the club could make 'one or two additions' to the team, a major investment might disrupt the current balance.

"It's just that we don't see it as necessary. There will be some tweaks."

"I do not see it necessary to make an investment that could distort what we are building, which is a balanced team. Next year we will have Gavi again, which gives energy. Pedri and Frenkie are world-class players like all the ones we have."

He emphasised the return of promising young talent like Gavi, as well as the presence of world-class players such as Pedri and Frenkie.

Financial Constraints and Managerial Changes

Barcelona's transfer activity is also influenced by financial constraints, with the club needing to generate significant funds to facilitate any new signings.

Moreover, the impending search for a new manager following Xavi's decision to step down adds another layer of complexity to the Catalan club's summer plans.
