Harambee Stars forward Mohammed Bajaber has been vindicated over his decision to make a big-money switch to Police as he has contributed to their title win.

As Kenya Police celebrate their maiden FKF Premier League title win, Harambee Stars attacker Mohammed Bajaber is among those thankful that they made the right decision.

Bajaber was reportedly acquired by Police for a reported figure of Ksh1 million from Nairobi City Stars in the midseason transfer window and has seen that transfer pay off in a big way.

While Police reaped instant dividends, Bajaber also silenced those who doubted whether it was the right move at the time as he had scored just one goal for Simba wa Nairobi in the first half of the season.

However, Bajaber hit the ground running for his new club, scoring four goals in his first five games, which played a key role in their run to the league win.

The player, who can play on either wing or behind the striker, made an instant impact as he scored on his debut, opening the scoring in Police’s 2-0 win over Bidco United on February 15, and then scored a brace as his team beat Murang’a Seal 3-1 the following month.

Bajaber would earn a call-up to the national team for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers and when he scored a cracking goal as Kenya came from behind to draw 3-3 with the Gambia, he became an instant hit among fans, earning his first start for Harambee Stars in their next match against Gabon.

After international duty, Bajaber was the match winner for Police as his goal earned them a 1-0 win over Posta Rangers on March 30.

That saw him earn his new team nine points in two months since signing and they have proved to be crucial in the title race.

However, Bajaber is not just about scoring goals. He is also a playmaker who creates chances for his team-mates, his great technical ability allowing him to dictate the tempo of the game, break lines and beat opponents in one-on-one situations.

He matches his attacking instincts with a high work rate as he does not mind tracking back and helping out defensively which has made him a key component for coach Etienne Ndayiragije’s team.

An injury has hampered him in the final weeks of the season but his five goals for Police have proved key in the club’s title triumph, vindicating the decision to move from City Stars.
