Despite a poor Premier League run, Manchester United plan to keep Ruben Amorim and give him a second chance, regardless of the Europa League final result.

Manchester United have endured a tough Premier League season under Ruben Amorim’s management, but the club is not ready to let him go yet.

Manchester United are placed 16th on the Premier League table with 39 points, and only have two matches remaining before closing their campaign. Out of their 36 matches played so far, Manchester United have won 10, drawn nine and lost 17.

They might end their Premier League campaign even lower than that if they fail to turn up as expected in their matches against Chelsea and Aston Villa.

Manchester United also have the Europa League final scheduled for Wednesday, May 21, against Tottenham Hotspur and will also have to prove a point.

They have enjoyed an amazing Europa League campaign, getting through the group stages and winning their quarterfinal leg against Lyon.

In their first leg of the quarterfinal, Manchester United drew 2-2 with Lyon before winning 5-4 in the second leg of the quarterfinal to progress to the semifinal. In their semifinal, Manchester United won 3-0 in the first leg against Athletic Bilbao before claiming a 4-1 win in the second leg.

According to a report by Guardian Sport, Manchester United have decided to give Ruben Amorim a chance to redeem himself next season.

The decision to let him stay at Old Trafford will not be based on whether the Red Devils win or lose the Europa League final match against the Spurs.

Ruben Amorim will be allowed to make decisions this summer transfer window, which they believe will give him a chance to improve the squad and sign players better suited to his tactics.

Following Manchester United's 2-0 loss to West Ham United, Ruben Amorim opened up about the need to sign formidable players if they are to make an impact next season.

“I’m talking about myself, I’m talking about the culture in the club and the culture in the team. We need to be really strong in the summer and be brave,” Ruben Amorim said.

“We will not have a next season like this if we start like this. If the feeling is still here we should give space [his position] to different persons.

“It’s mentally. We are not scared of losing a game as Manchester United. We don’t have that fear anymore and that is the most dangerous thing that a big club can have.”

This second chance for Ruben Amorim gives him to reevaluate the players and make changes where necessary, after replacing Erik ten Hag last November.

At the moment, Ruben Amorim has eyes on Wolves’ Matheus Cunha and Ipswich’s Liam Delap, hoping they will make an impact once they arrive at Old Trafford.
