A section of AFC Leopards fans turned their frustration to the players during their 2-1 loss to Vihiga Bullets in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) game on Sunday.

Leopards hit another low in what has been a disappointing season when they were beaten by the already relegated Bullets in Vihiga, eliciting anger from a handful of their supporters who turned out to witness the match.

Ingwe had travelled to Vihiga amid reports that the players were on a go slow over alleged late payment of their salaries, subsequently boycotted training, and the fans made known their feeling towards the squad.

“You are giving us pressure, this must stop. You haven’t trained but you want to play. Just leave, if you don’t have the heart to play for AFC Leopards just leave. Take off the Leopards' shirt and leave,” a frustrated fan shouted at the players from the stands.

“We are wasting our money to come watch you and you are striking. How much does the club owe you, we can even contribute for you,” he added.

Leopards are on course for one of their lowest finishes in the league as they sit seventh on the log with 48 points. Ingwe have won just two of their last 11 games, the poor run including five defeats and four draws which has seen them slip down the table.

They will also extend their trophyless run to six years, having been knocked out of the FKF Cup semi-final by Kakamega Homeboyz last month.

Patrick Aussems’ men face Sofapaka and Kariobangi Sharks in their final two games of the season.
