Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta has opened up over the stake of Bukayo Saka’s injury after the winger hobbled off the pitch in their win over Ipswich.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has allayed fears that Bukayo Saka will have an extended spell on the sidelines after he was injured during their 4-0 win against Ipswich on Sunday.

Saka was left worse following Leif Davis' rash challenge on his Achilles, which saw the Ipswich full-back shown a red card in the 57th minute.

The Arsenal forward was seen hobbling off and later had an icepack on his Achilles, raising fears that he was set for another long spell out after just returning from injury this month.

However, Arteta has now cleared any doubts over the player’s situation in what will be a relief to Arsenal fans.

“I don't think it is intentional but it was dangerous,” said Arteta as per Dailymail.

“I do (worry) with the numbers that we have right now, especially when the player has his back to goal, because that is the moment when the foot is planted, your weight is there, and you cannot really react. He cuts him from the back.

“The referee made a decision, and that it is clear. He was a bit sore, but it's nothing serious, so it's good.”

Saka’s return has come at good time for Arsenal who are looking to make it to the Champions League final for the first time since 2006 and to win their first-ever European title.

The Gunners must, however, overcome Paris Saint-Germain in a two-legged semi-final with the first leg set for Tuesday, April 29.
