The ex-Liverpool vice-captain has explained why he believes Manchester City are right to part ways with Kevin De Bruyne.
Kevin De Bruyne is set to leave Manchester City at the end of his contract, and Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher believes that is the right decision.
The 33-year-old revealed last month that he will be leave Manchester City at the end of the season. He later went on to claim that City did not offer a contract extension, prompting him to end his 10-year stay at Etihad.
Kevin De Bruyne has yet to disclose where he will go next but it is highly unlikely that he would leave Europe for clubs in America or Saudi Arabia since he insisted that he still has more to give to those clubs.

Carragher added that Manchester City feel like they are losing out since that kind of wage should be paid to a star player, one that Kevin De Bruyne once was.
“He's one of the highest paid players in world football, (but) he's been injured a lot in the last two years so it's hard to justify for Manchester City from a business point of view to give him a new contract,” Jamie Carragher explained as quoted by Sky Sports.
“At a club like this you couldn't afford to have someone on those type of wages not playing every week. That should be for one of your star players.

While Kevin De Bruyne remains a legendary figure at Manchester City, Jamie Carragher believes the club is making the right decision by letting him go.
With his growing injury record and high wages, Manchester City must look ahead with a more sustainable approach.
