According to reports, Leicester City are set to demand £40 million for midfielder James Maddison this summer.

The English midfielder has been linked with a move away from Leicester after having a good season with the Foxes.

The Foxes are currently letting several high-profile players leave this summer due to their recent relegation to the Championship and Maddison is one of them.

The Midfielder is expected to leave the club this summer and Leicester has placed a price of at least £40 million for the signature of the Englishman.

Maddison’s value

Leicester have placed a price on James Maddison and expects clubs to meet his price tag if they are to get him this summer.

The Athletic reportedly said that Maddison is valued at £40 million, though Leicester might get more if a bidding war breaks out with Newcastle United and Arsenal all in for his signature.

Maddison still managed 10 goals and nine assists in the Premier League this season despite Leicester being relegated.

The 26-year-old still has a year left in his current contract at Leicester and will be looking to sort out his future before the start of the new season.

Leicester releases list of players leaving

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Foxes have listed seven players who will leave the King Power stadium after their separate contracts end this summer.

Leicester will compete in the championship next year after being relegated from the Premier League this season.

The Belgian midfielder Youri Tielemens, who has been linked to a move to Arsenal, is first on the list of players who have been released.

Other players like Çağlar Söyüncü, Daniel Amartey, Nampalys Mendy, Ryan Bertrand, Ayoze Pérez and Tetê will leave the club for free.

Harvey Barnes and Maddison may potentially depart Leicester this summer, but unlike the other players who were let go, they will want a transfer fee.
