Kenya Police FC head coach has broken his silence after winning the KPL title, revealing that their focus has now shifted to a bigger assignment.

Kenya Police FC have enjoyed an impressive run this season, winning the Football Kenya Federation Premier League title by dethroning defending champions Gor Mahia.

Kenya Police FC claimed the league following their 1-0 triumph over Shabana and while Gor Mahia won 3-2, that was not enough to gather them points that would earn them their title defense.

Kenya Police face Gor Mahia in their final match of the season at the Ulinzi Sports Complex on Sunday, and head coach Etienne Ndayiragije is unworried about that as he has focus on other important things.

Kenya Police will be looking to maximise on the transfer window to have as many formidable players as they can on board.

In an interview with Mozzart Sport, the head coach admitted that they have a good squad but there are a few things that can be done to make things better.

“I have a lot of confidence in the current squad, but we will be heading into the transfer market aiming to bolster it,” Etienne Ndayiragije revealed.

“Our next focus is to prepare well for the Champions League. We got a taste of continental football in the Confederation Cup, but this is a much bigger stage, and it demands that we step up our efforts.”

He added that winning the title was proof that the squad had put in the work and admitted that it was something he expected.

Etienne Ndayiragije also lauded Gor Mahia for putting in the work in their quest to defend their title. He disclosed that Gor Mahia kept Kenya Police on their toes and without them, they might have not won the title.

“This title is a reward for the hard work everyone at the club has put in. I’m proud of the players and the entire technical team,” he revealed.

“We congratulate our opponents, especially Gor Mahia, who pushed us to the limit and kept the pressure on. It was a tough season with worthy competition, and we hope to maintain this standard next season.”

Kenya Police FC are now eyeing bigger things following their dominant display in the Kenya Premier League and their main focus will be to conquer the continental stage.
