The 22-year-old center-back's impressive performance and increased goal tally contributed to a promising season for Homeboyz.

Kakamega Homeboyz defender Brian Eshihanda has expressed satisfaction with his performance in the recently concluded Football Kenya Federation Premier League season.

The 22-year-old center-back played a pivotal role in his team's improved showing in the second leg of the season, contributing to a strong finish in the league.

Reflecting on the season, Eshihanda acknowledged that it did not start on a positive note for his team but noted players showed resilience and determination, gradually evolving into an improved side as the season progressed.

"The season was good for us. We started very badly, but in the second leg of the season, we came as an improved side, and thus we got a good finish in the league," Eshihanda shared.

In addition to the team's success, Eshihanda personally achieved his target of surpassing his previous season's performance.

He had set his sights on improving from his previous record of three goals, and he successfully achieved that feat.

"My target was to improve from what I had in the previous season where I had three goals and now I have finished with five goals," he added.

Prior to joining Kakamega Homeboyz in September 2021, Eshihanda had showcased his skills playing for Nakuru-based GDC.

However, his move to Homeboyz seems to have provided him with a platform to further develop his talent and leave a mark in the FKF Premier League.

With the 2022/2023 season behind him, Eshihanda is already looking ahead and setting his sights higher for the upcoming season.

While Patrick Odhiambo's coached side had its fair share of challenges, their resilience and improvement in the latter part of the season allowed them to achieve a respectable position.

Homeboyz finished in eighth position in the league standings and have an FKF Cup final on Saturday against Tusker that could mark their first piece of major silverware.
