Harry Kane ended his career-long major trophy wait after finally winning the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has opened up on why lifting his first major trophy won't change him.

The England international has been without a major trophy throughout his career, whether with club or country.

With over 388 club career goals, the former Tottenham Hotspur striker had no silverware to show for it.

However, this campaign has changed that as he lifted the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich.

The former Spurs captain has reflected on ending his trophy wait, noting that he will not be a changed man because of it.

“It’s nice to be on the other side, to be honest, to have that celebration I’ve not had before,” he said, as quoted by The Guardian.

“I’ve seen my fair share of other teams lifting trophies.”

Despite the relief, Kane noted he will remain the same.

“It doesn’t change me as a player. I’m no different to what I was before I had won. It was something that was missing from my resume. Maybe once you’ve won your first one, there’s a little less to talk about and throw my way, but again it comes with it.”

A History of Heartbreaks

It is hard to imagine a player with Kane's goalscoring record without a trophy.

But it is not for the lack of trying. The striker has come close on two different occasions with Tottenham Hotspur and England.

In 2019, he was on the receiving end of a Champions League final loss as Tottenham succumbed to a 2-0 defeat against Liverpool.

With England, he suffered back-to-back Euro final losses—first in the delayed 2020 Euro final, losing to Italy on penalties, before losing 2-1 to Spain in 2024.

Even with Bayern, his first season proved disastrous as the ever-dominant Bundesliga side lost out to Bayer Leverkusen in his debut season.

However, a year later and one of the most prolific scorers of his generation finally has silverware to show for it.
