Former Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba is proud of the fruits of his labour as Rising Stars youngsters Aldrine Kibet and Amos Wanjala seal grand deals abroad.
While serving as Kenya’s sports minister, Ababu Namwamba spearheaded several initiatives, including Talanta Hela, a program designed to nurture emerging talent and create sustainable career opportunities.
Ababu Namwamba nurtured a lot of young football talents, including Aldrine Kibet and Amos Wanjala, who joined Nastic Academy in September 2023, and through that, they grew to become some of Kenya’s promising youngsters.

Following the news that Aldrine Kibet is nearing a move to Benni McCarthy’s former club, Celta Vigo and Amos Wanjala to Elche FC, Ababu Namwamba shared a lengthy message on his X (Twitter) handle, praising the youngsters.
He noted that as they started, they only had a dream, but now it has come to fruition. Ababu Namwamba, who now serves as Kenya's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office in Nairobi, noted that all the doubters now have confirmation that his initiative worked.

“Ingavi graduated from MontVerde Academy in Orlando, USA, on May 17 and joined a Michigan semi-pro team ahead of university in August,” he added.
