The midfielder stood out in the just-concluded season and could be on the move in the transfer window.

Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) champions Gor Mahia are eyeing Kariobangi Sharks midfielder Tyson Otieno.

Otieno is one of the most talented midfielders in the country, and his performance caught the eye of other clubs, and now K'Ogalo are interested in bringing him on board in the off season transfer window.

Should he move from the Eastlands side to Gor Mahia, Otieno will join his younger brother Austin Odhiambo and possibly play together next season in the club's midfield department.

His contract with William Muluya's side is understood to be expiring in a year's time, and he could be on the way out of the 2018 FKF Cup champions.

His move to Gor is understood to be close, as all that remains is a conclusion on the transfer fee between the Premier League clubs.

Recently, former Wazito FC head coach Frank Ouna urged his former side to move with speed and sign Otieno. A recent departure by Shafiq Kagimu could have opened the door for Otieno.

The Ugandan, who had joined the club on a short deal, left the Premier League champions after helping them win the record title.

With CAF Champions League football coming up, head coach Johnathan McKinstry will need to dip into the market and sign more players in order to create a well-balanced squad that also enjoys depth in all departments.

Apart from a far better campaign on the continental stage, Gor Mahia's focus will also be on the domestic competition, as they will hope to retain the league and also take a shot at the FKF Cup.
