K'Ogalo reveal gate revenue from their final match of the season, marked by a dramatic game and unique celebrations.

Record FKF Premier League champions Gor Mahia have revealed the gate collection revenue from their final league match of the 2024/2025 season against newly crowned champions Kenya Police FC.

The fixture, played at the Ulinzi Complex, was not just a high-stakes encounter but also drew significant fan interest.

With ticket prices set at KSh 500 for regular seats and KSh 1,000 for VIP, the event saw a sizable turnout from the club's loyal fanbase, popularly known as the Green Army.

"We managed to collect KSh.958,000 from tickets sales in today’s league match against Police FC at Ulinzi Complex. Thanks to all Gor Mahia members & fans; we plan to improve on the online ticketing for better returns in future," read a post from the club's treasurer Gerphas Okuku.

The clash was anticipated not just for its footballing stakes but also for the sportsmanship surrounding it.

With Kenya Police having sealed their maiden league title the previous weekend after a narrow 1-0 win over Shabana FC, all eyes were on Gor Mahia to see whether they would extend a guard of honour gesture.

Gor Mahia Honour the New Champions

In a show of class, Gor Mahia lined up at one end of the pitch, applauding the champions as they made their way onto the field. This rare and respectful act earned the admiration of fans and neutrals alike, setting a celebratory tone for the day.

The celebration was not confined to the field. Kenya Police FC players arrived in chauffeured limousines and wore matching three-piece suits paired with white sneakers, highlighting the gravity and festivity of the occasion.

It was a proud moment for the team, making a statement not just with silverware but also with style.

Action on the Pitch

When the formalities ended, it was time to get down to football. Gor Mahia drew first blood through Musa Shariff in the 24th minute, who slotted home from close range to give the outgoing champions a deserved lead.

Kenya Police responded in the second half, with Brian Okoth leveling the score in the 60th minute with a well-timed half-volley that beat Gor custodian Kevin Omondi.

The 1-1 draw ensured both teams walked away with pride intact and eyes now set on future targets.

Gor Mahia will now shift their attention to the FKF Cup final, where they are set to clash with Nairobi United next Saturday.
