FKF Premier League Relegation Battle Heats Up as Six Teams Fight for Survival

With one match week remaining, six Kenyan Premier League teams are locked in a fierce relegation battl as three clubs face the drop.

With just one matchday to go in the 2024/25 FKF Kenyan Premier League season, the relegation battle has reached fever pitch.

Six teams are still mathematically at risk of the drop, with only three points separating 13th-placed Mara Sugar and 17th-placed Murang’a Seal, as the bottom three teams will be relegated directly, and for now, nothing is guaranteed.

5 Most Beautiful CHAN 2024 Stadiums

CHAN 2024 will showcase East Africa’s top stadiums, with a stunning lineup of upgraded, beautiful, and high-capacity venues across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.

Bidco United, languishing at the bottom, have endured a difficult season with just six wins. Unless they secure a final-day victory and results elsewhere go their way, they are likely to be among the three teams going down as their survival hopes hang by a thread.

Just above Bidco, Murang’a Seal, Nairobi City Stars, and Posta Rangers are all tied on 34 points, separated only by goal difference.

Talanta FC sit slightly safer at 35 points, while Mara Sugar have 36. A loss for any of these teams on the final day could spell doom, depending on how their rivals perform.

Meanwhile, Ulinzi Stars and Kariobangi Sharks, each on 37 points, are not mathematically safe but are in a relatively better position. A draw or win for either should be enough to confirm their stay in the top flight.

Final Day Scenarios

A win for any team on 34 or 35 points could be enough to survive, especially if results elsewhere go their way.

On the flip side, even a draw might not be sufficient depending on goal difference. For teams like Mara Sugar and Talanta FC, it's a must-not-lose situation, while Murang’a Seal and Nairobi City Stars may need wins to leap out of danger.

Bidco United must win and hope two or more of the teams above them drop points, otherwise, their relegation will be confirmed.

The 2024/25 relegation fight is set for a dramatic final day with six teams in the danger zone.
