Cristiano Ronaldo has ended speculation over whether he will be at the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup after breaking his silence over the tournament.

Cristiano Ronaldo confirmed on Saturday that he will not participate in the upcoming Club World Cup, dismissing rumours of a transfer to a participating club.

Speaking in Munich before Portugal's Nations League final against Spain, the captain addressed speculation about his involvement in the expanded tournament.

"I will not be at the Club World Cup," he stated as per Flashscore, while acknowledging he had received offers from several teams.

Ronaldo's future at the club level remains uncertain, with his contract at Saudi Arabia's Al Nassr expiring at the end of June.

He fueled transfer rumors in May with a social media post declaring "the chapter is over," leading to speculation about a potential move to another Saudi club, Al Hilal, a Club World Cup participant.

Ronaldo Not Keen on Short-Term Contract

Cristiano Ronaldo does not want a shor-term deal.

"It’s almost decided that I will not take part at the FIFA Club World Cup despite receiving many invitations and proposals. There have been talks, contacts… but you have to think about short, medium and long term,” Ronaldo affirmed.

Ronaldo emphasised his unwillingness to make a short-term move solely for the tournament. "Some teams reached out to me. Some made sense and others did not. But you can't try and do everything, you can't catch every ball,” he explained.

The Portuguese forward indicated that a final decision regarding his future is imminent.

Recent reports have suggested that Al Nassr are working on a new deal to keep Ronaldo at the Saudi club next season.

Moroccan club Wydad and the four Brazilian clubs Palmeiras, Botafogo, Flamengo and Fluminense are believed to have reached out to Ronaldo over the possibility of playing for them at the Club World Cup.
