Chelsea could be set to lose two players to the new wave of Saudi Arabian migrations, as Kalidou Koulibaly and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have been approached to leave the club this summer.
Koulibaly and Aubameyang targeted by Saudi Arabian clubs
The Senegalese and Gabonese stars could be set to join the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, and N’Golo Kante in moving to the Middle East as Saudi Arabia attempts to give their top flight a facelift in the next few years.
Koulibaly, who only joined Chelsea in the summer of 2022, is now reportedly a target for Saudi Professional League champions Al-Ittihad, who have already unveiled former Real Madrid captain, Benzema as their first major signing of the season.
The club will however have to pay a reasonable transfer fee for the defender as he is still under contract with Chelsea until 2026.
Aubameyang desperate for Chelsea exit
Aubameyang, on the other hand, could be allowed to leave on a free transfer if he cancels his contract with the club after already being deemed surplus to requirements at the club.
The Gabonese star will get to choose from the options of Al Ahli Saudi FC and Al-Shabab FC, who are both reportedly interested in signing him from Chelsea.
Although Aubameyang would prefer to stay in Europe, he might have to come to terms with the lack of interest in his services at the moment at the top clubs, and could be tempted by a move to join the budding Saudi Pro League.
