Harambee Stars midfielder Kenneth Muguna has explained how Kenyan fans can help the national team overcome their tough Group A opponents during the 2024 CHAN tournament.

Harambee Stars midfielder Kenneth Muguna believes a full stadium will be vital for Kenya if they have to make it past their group at the 2024 African Nations Championships (CHAN 2024).

Kenya find themselves in a tough Pool A that also has Morocco, DR Congo, Angola and Zambia following the CHAN 2024 draw conducted in Nairobi on Wednesday.

All four nations have a higher football pedigree compared to Kenya, who are considered underdogs, with many feeling that they have no chance of getting out.

However, Muguna believes a good start is vital and that will be against Morocco where the Kenya Police midfielder is counting on the impact of the 12th man.

"We are psyched to face anybody. It is very important to have a full stadium for the first match because it is the match that may decide your fate in the group stage," said Muguna.

"I hope there will be no empty seats. I hope the stadium will be full to capacity."

Muguna is also of the opinion that the postponement of the tournament from February to August will boost the standards of the Kenyan league as every player will raise their levels with an eye on a place in the CHAN team.

"Everybody in the league will improve their level to get into the team and we have many players yet only 20 or 26 will represent the country," he added.

"Everybody will be fighting for a spot and no one is guaranteed a spot, even the captain. It is a trial for everyone."
