Manchester United have stepped up their chase for Bryan Mbeumo, intensifying their efforts with an improved offer as competition mounts from rival Premier League clubs.

Manchester United have made a bold move in the transfer market by increasing their offer for Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo to a package worth over £60 million.

The Red Devils had previously seen a £45m bid plus £10m in add-ons rejected earlier this month, but with pressure growing from other interested clubs, United have now gone closer to Brentford’s £70m valuation in hopes of finalising a deal swiftly.

The 25-year-old forward, who netted an impressive 20 goals in the Premier League last season, has become a hot commodity in the summer transfer window.

United’s urgency has grown, especially as rivals Tottenham, Newcastle, and Aston Villa circle.

Journalist Duncan Castles, speaking on The Transfers Podcast, revealed: “United have now moved to wrap up a deal for Mbeumo by offering a deal worth in excess of £60m.”

Brentford Hold Firm as Battle for Mbeumo Heats Up

According to The Standard, Brentford are reportedly determined to hold firm on their £70m asking price, despite the increased bid from Old Trafford.

The Bees believe Mbeumo’s value reflects not just his goalscoring numbers, but also his growing influence in big matches and his versatility across the front line.

Castles added that Brentford will do “everything in their power to see their £70m asking price met,” as the club prepares for the likely departure of one of their standout performers.

United’s improved bid, though still slightly below the valuation, demonstrates a clear intent to beat their Premier League rivals to the Frenchman’s signature.

Spurs’ Frank Factor Complicates United’s Chase

Adding further intrigue to the saga is Tottenham’s entry into the race, spurred by the recent appointment of Thomas Frank as manager.

Frank, who previously worked with Mbeumo at Brentford, could hold a crucial advantage in swaying the player’s decision.

Castles noted that while Mbeumo was initially leaning towards a switch to Old Trafford, the prospect of reuniting with Frank and the lure of Champions League football may be turning his head.

“It is Spurs who could now be the more attractive option,” he added.

Manchester United, however, remain hopeful that their financial muscle and Erik ten Hag’s rebuilding project can still appeal to the player’s long-term ambitions.

Mbeumo is viewed as a key target to strengthen United’s attacking depth following a season of inconsistency in front of goal.

The Red Devils are said to be preparing further discussions with Brentford in an effort to reach a final agreement, though much may depend on Mbeumo’s personal preference as negotiations heat up.
