Austin Odhiambo Shares Honest Opinion on Gor Mahia's New Signings Bryne Omondi, Lewis Bandi and Co

The Gor Mahia attacking midfielder has shared his thoughts on Gor Mahia’s new signings ahead of the upcoming season.

Gor Mahia have made several formidable signings ahead of the 2025/26 Football Kenya Federation Premier League campaign.

K’Ogalo are hoping to reclaim their title after losing it narrowly to Kenya Police in the 2024/25 season. The Law Enforcers won the league title with 65 points, having won 18 out of the 34 matches played.

Gor Mahia came in second in the league, with 59 points after winning 16 matches out of their 34 matches.

Nairobi United deepened Gor Mahia’s woes with a 2-1 victory in the FKF Cup final, leaving the champions without silverware this season.

Gor Mahia New Signings Ahead of New Season

Following their disastrous campaign, Gor Mahia sacked their entire technical bench, and recently announced the appointment of Charles Akonnor as their new head coach, with Kobi-Mensah Bismark as his assistant.

Gor Mahia also signed Harambee Stars defender, Lewis Bandi, from their arch-rivals, AFC Leopards. Lewis Bandi was AFC Leopards’ assistant captain.

They also announced the signings of Michael Kibwage, a defender from Tusker FC, and Bryne Omondi, a goalkeeper from Bandari FC. Gor Mahia have also signed Siraj Mohammed, a defender also from Bandari FC.

Austin Odhiambo, who has been impressive for Harambee Stars in their African Nations Championship (CHAN 2024) campaign, noted that the signings are a great move for Gor Mahia, and they are raring to go in the new season.

Odhiambo added that if he receives a chance to play abroad, he will gladly embrace it, noting that it is a dream for every player.

“It’s good for Gor Mahia…that’s all I can say,” Austin Odhiambo briefly commented. “It’s every player’s dream to play abroad, so when an opportunity arises, it will be great.”

Austin Odhiambo started his CHAN 2024 campaign, scoring the sole goal against two-time champions DR Congo before also holding Angola to a 1-1 draw, thanks to his penalty that found the back of the net.
