Premier League sides Arsenal and Liverpool are reportedly evaluating a move for Ferland Mendy, whose Real Madrid contract is running out.

Premier League giants Arsenal and Liverpool are considering a move for Real Madrid full-back Ferland Mendy this summer, according to reports from L’Équipe.

Interest from Premier League Giants

With just one year remaining on his contract at the Bernabeu, the 28-year-old Frenchman has caught the attention of several English clubs. Arsenal and Liverpool have already made contact with Mendy’s entourage, although formal negotiations have yet to commence.

Liverpool, however, are exercising caution due to uncertainty surrounding their next manager. Despite the interest, they are waiting for a clearer picture before moving forward.

Competition from Manchester City and Others

Apart from Arsenal and Liverpool, Manchester City are also in the race for Mendy’s signature. Manchester United and Newcastle United have long-standing interest and are ready to discuss terms.

However, Mendy seems uninterested in a move to Newcastle, especially with the Magpies likely to miss out on UEFA Champions League qualification next season.

Real Madrid, are said to be impressed with Mendy’s performance and are looking to offer the man that Carlo Ancelotti has dubbed the ‘Best in the world in his position’ a contract extension.
