The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has conducted the draws for the preliminary qualification round of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations slated for Morocco.

This is barely a fortnight since the conclusion of the 2023 edition, which was clinched by hosts Ivory Coast following a 2-1 victory over Nigeria.

It should be noted that the Tuesday draw comprised eight nations, which are the lowest positioned on the continent, based on the recently released FIFA Rankings.

Three of the eight are members of the CECAFA, including South Sudan, Djibouti and the recently inducted Somalia.
