AFC Leopards all but ended Gor Mahia’s slim title hopes after holding K’Ogalo in the Mashemeji Derby in Homa Bay on Monday.
Gor Mahia all but kissed the FKF Premier League title goodbye following a 1-1 draw with bitter rivals AFC Leopards in the Mashemeji Derby in Homa Bay on Monday.
At a packed Raila Odinga Stadium, the 97th Mashemeji Derby had a lot at stake for Gor Mahia, who needed to win to keep alive their slim hopes of winning a record-extending 22nd league crown.
However, despite scoring first, they could not hold onto their lead as Leopards denied them all three points, with the shared spoils leaving Kenya Police requiring just a draw from their remaining two matches to seal a first-ever league title.
