Ulinzi Warriors played a tactical match against Equity Dumas at the Nyayo National Stadium to secure a narrow 68-66 win over the Bankers on Saturday night.
A loss for the Warriors would mean they bow out of the Kenya Basketball Federation Premier League and would contend for a third-place finish.
However, the Warriors did not seem to be comfortable with the position, and they had to dig deep for the win and hopefully, this time around, make it to the final and win the league title.

Zetech will face KPA in the ladies final while KPA men are yet to book a place in the final.
The match started off with the Bankers displaying a good show and were leading in the first and second quarters before things got heated. The Warriors slowly changed their game plan and took charge.
With 49 seconds to go before the match ended, the Bankers were behind the Warriors by one point. The Warriors made sure their defense was tightened to prevent Equity from scoring, and their plan was well executed.
Equity's head coach, Carrey Odhiambo, blamed complacency for their poor display at the event. Odhiambo revealed that he was afraid of how the upcoming matches would turn out, and all fingers remain crossed to avoid a repeat of last season.
"The boys were very complacent and made very many silly mistakes. We want to work on that because I believe we are capable of doing better. I don't want a repeat of last season," a frustrated Odhiambo said.
