Having played in the league for Ndejje and Power, Ochera has got experience and will give the Titans a lethal scoring option.

One of KIU Titans’ headline signings this off-season is Innocent Ochera.

The shooting guard was last season’s top scorer with 356 points but saw his side Power dismissed 2-0 by the Titans in the quarterfinals.

With the five-time champions struggling to pay players all season, an opportunity to join KIU was one the former Ndejje Angels guard could not miss.

He is one of the five players unveiled by Julius Lutwama’s troops and feels like he’s in the right place ahead of next season.

"It feels good to join a team as good and focused as KIU Titans," Ochera told the club media after his unveiling.

"I feel positive and energetic," he added. Having played in the league for Ndejje and Power, Ochera has got experience and will give the Titans a lethal scoring option.

"There is a lot to unveil since it’s a new family," he said. Saidi Amisi, Peter Obleng, Collins Kasujja and Brian Opio are the other signings in Kansanga so far.

There is talk of Michael Bwanga also making a return to the university side, who have made it clear that winning the championship is the target this coming season.

City Oilers have won the last eight championships and will still be favourites to retain the title in 2023.

With Namuwongo Blazers seemingly taking a downward trajectory, KIU will be hoping to be Oilers’ biggest challengers this season.
