The Jamaica Tourist Board named Bolt the official global tourism ambassador for Jamaica with his role being to promote the country as the best tourist destination while ensuring its image is positive.
Jamaica is looking to leverage on Bolt’s global appeal and popularity to promote the country and hope his legendary figure that transcends sports can help spruce up its image and attract tourists to the Caribbean nation.

“I will continue to represent my country to the best of my ability. I want to thank the Tourist Board and the minister and everyone who has been part of making this happen. We have a deal but we trying to make it a lifetime, right? We going to work on that,” said Bolt, as quoted by the Jamaican Observer.
