Fred Kerley will have his work cut out as he chases Diamond League points at the meeting in Stockholm where he will be up against history maker Letsile Tebogo.
The 2022 World 100m champion Fred Kerley will take on Botswanan youngster Letsile Tebogo at the Diamond League Meeting in the men's 100m at BAUHAUS-Galan, the Diamond League Meeting in Stockholm on June 2.
Kerley and Tebogo have not clashed one-on-one this season and the meeting will be the first time the duo lock horns. This comes after Kerley’s bitter exit at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary where Tebogo bagged a silver medal in the 100m and a bronze in the 200m.
Both have had great starts to the season but Tebogo seems to be in his greatest form. He started the season by setting the 300m world bets, running faster than American sprint legend Michael Johnson and the fastest man in the world Usain Bolt.

He also won the 200m race at the ASA Athletics Grand Prix 3 and also claimed top honours at the ASA Athletics Grand Prix 2 with a Personal Best time of 44.29 in the 400m. At the Kip Keino Classic, he faltered and ended up finishing second behind America’s Lindsey Courtney.
"My 2024 season has started in a fantastic way with personal bests and world-leading results. This shows that my training has gone very well, and it has also built on my confidence toward the Olympic Games in Paris," he said.
Meanwhile, Kerley has also made a solid start to the season with podium finishes at both of the opening two Diamond League Meetings of the season in Xiamen and Suzhou. He will certainly be hoping to bag more points on the board in Stockholm as he bids for a third career Diamond Trophy in 2024.

The fastest man in the world in 2024 admits to drawing inspiration from Noah Lyles
The fastest man in the world, a 17-year-old high schooler, has opened up on drawing inspiration from triple World champion Noah Lyles and Letsile Tebogo among other sprinting stars.
He was the Diamond League Final Trophy winner in the 400m in 2018 and in the 100m in 2021, and last season, he also looked comfortable claiming victories in Doha, Rome and Rabat.
The American is currently ranked number five in the world in the 100m, just one place behind Botswana's Tebogo, who has emerged as one of the best sprinters in the world over the last 12 months.
The duo will also hope to attack the Stockholm stadium record of 9.84, set by Tyson Gay back in 2010.
