Sha'Carri Richardson has shared an inspiring video clip by Dolly Parton about failure and success.

Reigning World 100m champion Sha’Carri Richardson has shared an inspirational video by American singer-songwriter and actress Dolly Parton.

In the video clip, Parton speaks about how she is not afraid and she is like everybody else but what makes her stand out is that she just works extra hard.

“I’m not really afraid. Of course, I’m like everybody else, I just work really hard. I’ve been as poor as anybody could be so I had everything to gain and nothing to lose,” Parton says in the video.

She adds that she is not afraid of losing since there is always something to learn and that still feels like winning.

“I just kind of work without fear because it’s fun for me. I’m always like if I fail, it’s not a big deal. If something doesn’t work out, I’m not afraid of failure because to me I’ve never felt like a loser.

Even when I’ve lost I still feel like I’m winning because I’m earning some sought of experience, something that I can use somewhere else,” she said.

Meanwhile, Richardson seems to be passing a message of hope and inspiration to other athletes. The American has had quite a few setbacks in recent years and this season was a breakthrough for her.

She bagged the 100m title at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary, and propelled the American 4x100m relay team to victory on the global stage.

Richardson ended her track season at the Diamond League Meeting final, finishing fourth in the 100m.

She had been nominated for the Women’s World Athlete of the Year by World Athletics but unfortunately could not make the list of the finalists.

However, she has also been honoured in different capacities by having a track named after her and November 10 being declared Sha’Carri Richardson Day.
