ATHLETICS Retired General Jack Tuwei re-elected Confederation of African Athletics first Vice president

This marks his second term serving as he was elected first in office in 2019 unopposed during the CAA Congress in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.

Athletics Kenya president Jack Tuwei has been re-elected as the first Vice president of the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA).

The retired General was re-elected during CAA Congress attended by the World Athletics president Sebastian Coe in Lusaka, Zambia.

This marks his second term serving as he was elected first in office in 2019 unopposed during the CAA Congress in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.

Tuwei will now serve under Cameroon national Hamad Kalkaba Malboum, who has also been re-elected to the position for the next four years (2023-2027).

Senegal’s Lamine Fenty has been elected as the Director General of CAA.

Others elected include Vice presidents Okowa Tonobok of Nigeria, Dlamini Zakhele of Eswatini, Tunisia’a Khaled Amara and Bruno Konga of the Central African Republic. Derartu Tulu of Ethiopia has also been elected for the vice president’s position.

The Executive Memebers include Aminata Sanghare of Mali, Christine Iye (Chad), Abdelmohsin Magida (Egypt), Naimhwaka Erwin (Namibia) and Tagara Tendai (Zimbabwe).

Ibrahim Siddig (Sudan), Bienvenu Matenda of Congo, Jeannot Kouame of Cote d’Ivoire and Mulbah Zaza of Liberia are also the exective members. Nalwa El Moutawakel of Morocco, Uganda’s Beatrice Ayikoru and Noralaiao Ramanantsoa of Madagascar sum up the list.
