Still Keeping Faith? Kipyegon Remains Defiant Despite Missing Four-Minute Mile - ‘I will not lose Hope’
Faith Kipyegon has still not lost hope of achieving what is considered humanly impossible after failing in her attempt to run a mile under four minutes.
“This was the first trial…I have learnt many lessons from this race, and I think going forward, I will go back to the drawing board and see where I can improve to get it right and get to where I want to be and still dare to try. I know one day, it will come my way. I’ve seen it’s possible,” Faith Kipyegon revealed in a post-race press conference.
Faith Kipyegon noted that during the race, she was focused on how her body was feeling and was not fully focused on the wavelights.
She disclosed that going for the world record, like in the 1500m, she constantly focused on the wavelights since she wanted to beat it, but for Thursday night, she wanted to prove something greater, and the wavelights were not her main focus.

Faith Kipyegon Misses Ksh13M Reward from Athlos Boss But Wins Hearts For Daring To Dream
Faith Kipyegon fell short of the four-minute mile during her Breaking4 attempt on Thursday, missing the Ksh13 million promised to her by Athlos founder, but she won plenty of plaudits.
However, she admitted that the wavelights were faster than her despite giving her all and promised that next time, she will try and beat them.
“So many times, like when I was going for the world record in the 1500m, I was faster than the light. So, today it was when you are going for a faster thing like today, you can't concentrate on the light, you just concentrate on how the body feels,” Faith Kipyegon said.
“You know you gave up everything, so I gave everything today…it was not all about running a tactical race or going for the world record, but it was just a special race whereby you just have to give everything.
“So, I gave everything, and I think the wave flights also gave everything, the wavelights gave everything, and I think it was the wavelights' time, and I think next time I will catch up with the lights.”
Despite falling short in her historic sub-four-minute mile attempt, Faith Kipyegon remains undeterred, taking valuable lessons from the race as she resets her focus and prepares for another bold run at greatness.
