ATHLETICS Omanyala's promise for the season as his outdoor tour kicks off in South Africa

His first race will be on April 12 at the Tuks Stadium.

Africa 100m champion Ferdinand Omanyala has promised his fans a thrilling show as he prepares to begin his outdoor tour in at the ASA Grand Prix scheduled for April 12 at the Tuks Stadium in South Africa.

On his Twitter account, Omanyala posted his calendar of events which indicated that he will then proceed to the second ASA Grand Prix Gemiston slated for April 19. The Commonwealth Games 100m champion will then compete at the Botswana Golden Grand Prix on April 29 before flying to the USA for the Atlanta City Games on May 6.

He will wrap up his first part of the outdoor tour with the Kip Keino Classic Competition, a World Athletics Continental Tour Meeting, slated for May 13 where he will be attempting to break his African record of 9.77 seconds.

“It’s been a great month of rest and preparation. GOD’s time!!! Here is the first part of my outdoor tour calendar. Mark the dates if you happen to be around these areas, those who can come, book your flights. A worthwhile show awaits you because I do keep my promises,” Omanyala posted on his Twitter.

The 27-year-old had a great start to his season with remarkable performances in his indoor tour in France and he will be hoping to extend the hot streak to the outdoors.

The tour saw him win three events, breaking his national record twice and finishing second in one. He won the Mondeville Meeting (6.55 seconds), Paris Meeting (6.56 seconds), and the Meeting in Lievin (6.54) which also saw him stun Olympic champion, Marcel Jacobs.

He finished second at the Elite Indoor Track Miramas meeting in 6.60 seconds.
