Africa's fastest man recorded back-to-back second place finishes in Florence and Paris and will now take a seven-week break before returning to action
Commonwealth Games champion Ferdinand Omanyala has extended a hand of gratitude to his fans for the support they accorded him during his Diamond League tour which has now come to an end as he shifts focus to the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
Omanyala made his return to the Diamond League Circuit this year since 2021 where he finished fourth at the meeting in Brussels. He opened his campaign at the Meeting in Rabat where he finished third before back-to-back second place finishes in Florence and Paris.

Kipyegon is fresh from winning the Meeting in Florence and she will be hoping to maintain the same momentum when she lines up for the 5000m.
In a post on his Twitter page, he said: “This is to say thank you for the love and support. May God bless the work of our hands always.”
He had earlier announced that after the meeting in Paris, he will take a seven-week break from international competitions as he gets ready for the global show in August.
The African champion clocked 9.98, his first sub-10 in the Diamond League, behind American Noah Lyles who time 9.97 for victory while Letsile Tebogo from Botswana finished third in 10.05.
Omanyala opened his season on a high note where he reigned supreme in all the 100m races he was competing in before stumbling at his first Diamond League Meeting of the season in Rabat.
He started off with a win at the second Athletics Kenya Meeting before heading to South Africa where he won the two ASA Grand Prixes he was competing in.
He then competed in the 150m race at the Atlanta City Games where he finished second and set a new African record of 14.89.
He is currently the fastest in the world (9.84) this season courtesy of the world leading time he posted to win the Kip Keino Classic.
