Botswana sprinter Letsile Tebogo has revealed his targets for the Monaco Diamond League where he will square it off with Noah Lyles for the first time since the Paris Olympics.
Olympics 200m champion Letsile Tebogo is unfazed by the prospect of facing off with Noah Lyles in 200m at the Monaco Diamond League on Friday night.
Tebogo and Lyles will square it off for the first time since the Botswana star stunned the American to win gold at the Paris 2024 and there has been a lot of hype leading to the race.
However, Tebogo does not see anything special as he remains determined to improve his time rather than making a statement win following a great outing at the Prefontaine Classic last week, where he ran a world leading time of 19.76 seconds.

Monaco Diamond League: Time and Where to Watch Noah Lyles Renew Rivalry With Letsile Tebogo
Top athletes, including Noah Lyles, Letsile Tebogo, and Emmanuel Wanyonyi, will headline the Monaco Diamond League on Friday, and here is how you can follow the action live.
“Honestly, tomorrow’s race, I am not expecting much because Eugene has shown that we are really on the right track. So, I believe tomorrow [Friday] is just to get into that new world lead again because it’s a tough competition but I will go there to just enjoy the race,” Tebogo said on Thursday.
Tebogo Looking to Tune Up for World Championships
Tebogo says what competing with Lyles and others does is to prepare him for the World Championships while ruling out sentiments that he will ditch the 100m to fully focus on 200m.
“Competing against the biggest names actually gets me ready for the championships. For now, we can’t rule any race out but the main race for me now is 200m. But we are doing the 100m to see where we need to improve and add muscles, work on the body,” he added.

Noah Lyles Puts Letsile Tebogo On Alert With Surprise Track and Field Announcement
Noah Lyles has broken his silence regarding the 200m race which he last featured in at the Paris Olympics when he lost to Letslie Tebogo.
Meanwhile, Lyles is hoping for a fast race as he comes back after recovering from an injury.
"Everything's been telling me like my body's ready to run fast. I've been waiting quite a while. I had an inflamed tendon, and it prevented me from actually being able to jog or run. I couldn't put much pressure on it. I could walk, but other than walking, I couldn't really do much,” Lyles said on Thursday.
Lyles has featured in just three races this year but he is yet to run either 100m or 200m which are his specialty.
