Percy Tau: African Giants Hit Dead End in Attempt to Sign South African Forward
An African giant is likely to miss out on South African attacker Percy Tau, who they have been interested in, because of one major reason.
The women put up a good fight, securing fourth place in the race, but it was not enough to secure them a place in the final or a slot in the World Championships, hence the need to return for the second qualifying round.
The heat was won by Team South Africa, who clocked a national record time of 3:28.01 to cross the finish line ahead of Germany, who clocked 3:28.63. Ireland rounded up the podium.
The other two heats saw Team USA and Spain claim top honours to book their slots in the final. France and Italy also booked automatic slots to the final where each team will be fighting for a place on the podium and hopefully walk away with the prize money set aside.
