Elaine Thompson-Herah, just like her fellow Jamaican sprinters, loves having unique wigs and she has shared the story behind her love for bob wigs.

The fastest woman alive Elaine Thompson-Herah has opened up on the significance of her signature short wigs when she goes to compete.

Her Jamaican fans believe that when she wears a short wig, she definitely means business and would shut down all her competitors in any given competition.

Before the Prefontaine Classic, they had already fired warning shots at her American rival, Sha’Carri Richardson, noting that the multiple Olympic champion is out to light up at Hayward Field in Eugene.

However, speaking to Real Talk With Tee after the race, the Jamaican sprint queen noted that she loves rocking the short wigs and she had also checked the weather prediction before the race which said that it would rain and was just being cautious.

“Yeah girl, I’m a bob girl. I love the bob. Well, it depends on the mood. Sometimes it just be too long but today I went short and checked the weather and it was saying ‘raining’, so I said ‘okay, the curly hair can get wet’. But yeah, Bob for sure,” Thompson-Herah added.

At the Prefontaine Classic, she finished ninth, clocking 11.30 to cross the finish line in the race won b Richardson. Julien Alfred and Dina Asher-Smith finished second and third respectively.

She insisted not to be bothered by the performance and noted that her main aim is to make it to the Jamaican trials and head to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Speaking about her newly signed ambassadorial deal with Christian Dior, she could not reveal much was clearly excited to have made such a huge milestone despite having a poor start to her season.

“I’m excited and grateful…from a young country Jamaican girl, growing up my dream was always to put myself out there as a brand. I think I’ve done that and I’m super grateful and happy to know that I’m raising the bar and the flag to be an ambassador of Christian Dior,” she said.
