‘You’re Acting Like I’m 55’ - Usain Bolt Puts IShowSpeed in His Place After YouTuber’s Wild Claim
YouTube sensation IShowSpeed, known for his high-energy antics and surprising athletic displays, recently came face-to-face with sprinting legend Usain Bolt, learning that raw talent doesn't always cut it at the elite level.
The streamer, whose real name is Darren Jason Watkins Jr, has been making waves in the athletics world.
He has previously tested his speed against 200m World Champion Noah Lyles, impressed NFL icon Tom Brady, and even challenged sprinter Sha'Carri Richardson. His explosive pace has often left both fans and professional athletes surprised.
This string of athletic feats caught the attention of Bolt himself, who back in May offered to coach the YouTuber. That offer took a new turn when the two finally met on the track for a light-hearted but revealing exchange.
Eager to demonstrate his speed to the eight-time Olympic gold medalist, IShowSpeed boasted about his abilities. However, Bolt remained unimpressed, delivering a dose of reality. "You had to train for life," the Jamaican icon explained, emphasizing the years of dedication required to reach the top.
Unconvinced, IShowSpeed retorted, "Alright, we gotta see." This prompted a sharp reply from Bolt, who reminded the streamer of the depth of talent in track and field. "You're acting like I'm 55, bro," Bolt said. "You know, Shelly-Ann [Fraser-Pryce] just retired? You probably couldn’t beat Shelly-Ann."
The comparison to Fraser-Pryce, one of the most decorated female sprinters in history, seemed to stun IShowSpeed. Bolt pressed his point, noting her incredible acceleration. "I’m telling you, bro. Over 40 meters, she’s quick—it’s no joke." In response, a determined IShowSpeed grabbed his spikes, ready to prove the legend wrong, but his subsequent attempt reportedly only validated Bolt's assessment.
YouTuber Stuns Tom Brady with Pro-Level Athleticism
While he may not have won over Usain Bolt, IShowSpeed certainly left a lasting impression on another sporting great: Tom Brady. In a recent YouTube episode titled "Speed Goes Pro: Episode 1- Tom Brady," the 20-year-old trained alongside the seven-time Super Bowl champion and former NFL receiver Danny Amendola.
IShowSpeed set his sights on a formidable goal: running the 40-yard dash in under 4.50 seconds, a benchmark for professional-level speed. After falling short on his first three attempts, he delivered a stunning performance on his fourth try.
He clocked an official 4.49-second dash, a time that drew a shocked "He did it!" from the usually composed Brady. But the streamer wasn't finished. Moments later, he recorded an incredible 40-inch vertical leap, leaving the NFL legend speechless.
"Oh my God. That’s unbelievable," Brady exclaimed, shaking his head in awe. "That’s insane."
Having tested his mettle against legends from two different sports, IShowSpeed continues to blur the lines between internet fame and genuine athletic prowess. While his encounters have proven his raw talent, the question remains whether he can ever refine it to match the world's elite sprinters.
