Welcome home - Flying Eagles Arrive Nigeria after 4-0 loss to Argentina at World Cup

Nigeria's U-20 national football team, the Flying Eagles have returned home following their exit from the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile.

The team touched down and were received at the airport by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

The Flying Eagles dressed in their green and white tracksuits, was seen with luggage carts and personal bags following their campaign in the global tournament.

The Flying Eagles qualified for the U-20 World Cup after securing a bronze medal at the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) earlier in 2025.

The NFF showcased the arrival of the Youth Team through photos on their social media platforms.

Along with the photos was a message that said, "The Flying Eagles are back from the @FIFAWorldCup U20 World Cup.

"Welcome home lads!"

Arriving in Chile as one of the tournament favorites, their campaign began with a 1-0 loss to Norway in their opening group game.

They bounced back in their second match with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Saudi Arabia.

The group stage concluded with a 1-1 draw against Colombia in their final game, earning them 4 points from three matches.

They advanced to the Round of 16 as one of the best third-placed teams where their journey ended with a resounding 4-0 defeat to six-time champions Argentina in Santiago.
