“Yeah, I think it's great to see a coach that believes in you, you know, and it's not easy. As a player, you have to show something for the coach to trust you. You have to be there every time you step on the pitch so that the coach can have that trust in you, and that's exactly what I did. And since then, he knew that when he needed me, I would deliver,” Victor Wanyama said.

Victor Wanyama described the charity match between Southampton and Manchester United as a memorable and meaningful return to action, saying it felt special to reunite with former teammates and share the pitch with players from different eras of the club.

He reflected that being involved in a game that brought together familiar faces and past colleagues made the occasion particularly significant for him.

“It was it was great experience. That was my first game back, and just going back and playing with the players, some of whom I played uh with in that team, was special. Getting to play with the players who were there before me, before my time, was also special,” he added.

“I was grateful to be part of that game, and also knowing that the game was being played there, and it was going to be for a good cause. That was special, and I couldn't have turned it down.”
