Ulinzi Stars Sack Coach Dunstan Nyaudo After Poor Start to the League

Ulinzi Stars have dismissed head coach Dunstan Nyaudo following a string of poor results in the top-flight division.

The former Kenya Premier League champions confirmed the decision in a statement on Monday, announcing that the tactician had been relieved of his duties. The club expressed its gratitude for Dunstan Nyaudo's tenure, highlighting his commitment to the team.

The decision comes after a challenging start to the season for the military-backed club, which has managed only one victory in its first five matches.

This difficult run has left them in 13th place on the 18-team league table, with just five points from five games.

“Ulinzi Stars Football Club wishes to announce that Head Coach Danstun Nyaudo has been relieved of his duties with immediate effect,” the club said in a statement.

“The management appreciates Coach Nyaudo’s dedication, professionalism, and service to the team both on and off the pitch during his time in charge.

“We extend our sincere gratitude to Coach Nyaudo for his contribution to the Ulinzi Stars family and wish him the very best in his future endeavours.”

Ulinzi Stars are currently navigating a period of inconsistent form, finding themselves lodged in the lower half of the standings through the opening five matches.

The Nakuru-based military side has secured five points. Their early-season record is evenly split with just one victory, complemented by two hard-fought draws, but marred by two defeats.

The team's campaign began promisingly with an important 1-0 away win over Murang'a SEAL FC, demonstrating solid defensive organisation.

However, their struggles to find the back of the net have been highlighted by goalless draws against both Kariobangi Sharks and Kenya Police FC.

Most recently, Ulinzi Stars have hit a rough patch, suffering consecutive losses, a narrow 1-2 defeat at home to Mara Sugar FC, followed by a more comprehensive 3-1 loss away to Kakamega Homeboyz.
