Terem Moffi's Nice crumbles in the hand of Clemont
Clemont have secured a vital three points away from home as they defeat Nice. The away side opened the scoring with Cham Saracevic in the first half before Gaetan Laborde levelled the score line for the home side before the half-time whistle.
Nice effort to get the winning goal was crushed as Eddine Khaoui scored the winning goal for the away side at the closing stage of the game with the game ending 2-1 in favour of the away team. Terem Moffi who started the game was unable to make an impact for his team as they lost their second game in a row.
How it happened
Terem Moffi was in the starting lineup for his team as he was once again called upon by his manager Didier Digard to lead the attack having recently crashed out of the Europa Conference League on Thursday by Basel.
The game started with a few attempts from both teams in the first 20 minutes, with the game looking like it would end in a draw. However, it was the away side Clemont that scored the opening goal when Johan Gastien played in Muhammed Cham, who showed great determination to get to the ball before the defenders and from inside the box shot into the top of the net.
Nice found their equaliser in the 41st minute when Gaetan Laborde fired a rebound inside the left post after the ball broke to him in the box with scores 1-1 at the break.
In the second half, Nice came with more energy and purpose as they tried to get the second goal but to no avail. Their hopes of getting a winner before 90 minutes were crushed in the 83rd minute when Saif-Eddine Khaoui scored the winner for Clemont having latched on to a pass and produced a perfect strike from the edge of the box that went past the goalkeeper.
Nice has now lost three games in a row in all competitions and have also been eliminated from the Europa Conference League by Basel.
