Super Eagles AFCON camp: Iwobi, Aina, Lookman and Aribo jet into Nigeria

The Super Eagles continue to stay relevant on social media trends.

Ahead of the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast, the Super Eagles are dominating the trends.

Head Coach Jose Peseiro released a 25-man list for the upcoming AFCON last week.

Some members of the team are already in the country on break from their respective clubs and leagues.

Players based in England part of the list are now set for the AFCON training camp.

Fulham duo Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, Soutahmpton's Joe Aribo and Atalanta's Ademola Lookman have all made headlines on social media.

It seems the players teamed up on a private airplane to join the Super Eagles camp.

In a related case with Super Eagles ahead of the AFCON, Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface and Napoli's Victor Osimhen have been hanging out ahead of the AFCON camp.

Boniface who is among the 25 Super Eagles players selected for the AFCON is expected to play a key role.

On Tuesday, January 2, all 25 players will fly into Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, for a one-week training camp that will run until Tuesday, January 9.

On Tuesday, January 9, the team will return to Lagos by air, and on Wednesday, January 10, they will arrive in the Ivorian capital, Abidjan.

In their pursuit of a fourth continental championship, the Super Eagles will play their opening Group A encounter on Sunday, January 14, against Equatorial Guinea.

They will then play their remaining matches against the host nation, Cote d'Ivoire, on January 18, and Guinea-Bissau on January 22.

Nigeria, who will be competing in the Africa Cup of Nations for the twentieth time, won the competition in 1980 while serving as hosts.

In 1994, they triumphed in Tunisia, and in 2013 they were named champions in South Africa.
