The Nigerian national football team touched down at the Bloemfontein airport after a journey that began earlier that day in Uyo, Nigeria.
The trip aboard a ValueJet flight reportedly included a brief stopover in Luanda, Angola before departing again for South Africa.
Photos of the Super Eagles players, coaches, technical team and members of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) at the Bloemfontein airport has gone viral on social media.
Members of the Nigerian community in South Africa turned out in impressive numbers in Nigerian traditional attire, dancing, singing and drumming.

The Super Eagles will have the official training at the Toyota Stadium by 6pm on Monday
The match against South Africa is a crucial encounter and they will be without talismanic striker Victor Osimhen, who was ruled out due to an injury.
Nigeria currently sit in third place with just ten points from seven games in Group C.
South Africa on the other hand come into the game with a comfortable 3-0 win against Lesotho.
The Bafana Bafana top the standings with 16 points and a victory will give them a massive lead in the group.
The game between South Africa and Nigeria will take place on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, with the kickoff at 5 PM.
