The two sides had already been assured of a place at the East African games in Huye District, Rwanda, later in August.

John Otim capitalized on a rebounder in the 11th minute after the keeper spilled Allan Oriywoth’s fierce long-range shot to give Amus the lead.

They could’ve doubled the lead almost two minutes later after Oyirwoth found Murshid Wandera with a good pass but the recipient shot wide after dribbling through his markers.

Royal Giants took their chance in the 18th minute through Issa Bugembe, who pounced on a poor clearance and miscommunication in Amus’ backline to tap in the equalizer.

Juma Kizito gave the Giants a leap seven minutes later but Amus pulled the game level at halftime.

The school from Mityana returned more energized and added two more to seal their third place and best-ever record at the finals.

Royal Giants are the National and CECAFA champion of the CAF Pan-African Schools championship.
