Can lightning strike twice or take revenge? Kitende, SHACK going for history in epic final of the Catholics

St. Henry’s College Kitovu will face St. Mary’s College Kitende in the final of the 2023 USSSA National Football Championship in Fort Portal on Saturday afternoon.

This will be more of a revenge match for Kitende, who was beaten 2-1 by SHACK in the penultimate game of the group.

The two teams have been in sizzling form throughout the tournament, bar for the hiccups in the semifinals with both going through the shootouts.

Kitovu beat Royal Giants 6-5 following a 1-all draw in regulation time.

On the other side, Kitende edged Bukedea District’s Amus College 5-3 in the shootouts after Allan Oyrwoth had cancelled Farouk Katongole’s strike to take the game into the spot kicks.

The final match and awards ceremony will take place at 2 PM after the third-place playoff between the Royal Giants and Amus College.

All four schools have booked a berth in the East Africa Schools games to be held later in August.
