Referee or Player? Bruno Fernandes Reveals Who Is to Blame for Man United Penalty Miss vs Fulham
Ruben Amorim's Manchester United drew 1-1 away at Marco Silva's Fulham in a match marked by a missed penalty from Bruno Fernandes.
The Portuguese international had the chance to open the scoring in the 38th minute from a spot-kick awarded by VAR but blazed the ball over the bar.
However, before taking his shot at Leno's goal, the midfielder had a minor mix-up with the match referee. As he prepared to shoot, he inadvertently bumped into Chris Kavanagh, forcing him to reset his entire routine and delaying the kick.

At the end of the game, visibly frustrated with the dropped points, the captain clarified that the incident with the referee had nothing to do with his penalty miss, despite it slightly annoying him.
Bruno Fernandes Speaks Out on Missed Penalty
"No, of course, everyone has their own routine and I was getting ready to take the penalty. That irritated me a little, but it wasn't the reason I missed. I missed the penalty because I struck the ball very badly, got too much underneath it, and it ended up going over the bar," he explained to Sky Sports, before discussing the rest of the game.
"We can't be satisfied with a point. We came here to win the game. We defended really well, but they scored from one chance. For us, it's very disappointing not to have won the game today. We're very disappointed.
"Obviously, we were in the game. We should have controlled it better after our goal and made them chase us. We were managing the runs from their midfielders into the box well."
Bruno Fernandes on Having Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko at Man United
He further noted that new signings Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Šeško are great players for Manchester United, noting that they bring in good qualities.
He believes that there is more to come from them and he is excited about their chances and what they can be able to do going forward.
Manchester United vs Fulham: How the Match Unfolded
Emile Smith Rowe struck just 94 seconds after coming off the bench to earn Fulham a 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Craven Cottage.
Manchester United had missed a golden chance in the first half when Bruno Fernandes blazed a penalty over after Mason Mount was fouled by Calvin Bassey.
They eventually took the lead in the 58th minute when Leny Yoro’s header deflected in off Rodrigo Muniz. But substitute Smith Rowe flicked in Alex Iwobi’s cross in the 73rd minute to snatch a point for Fulham, who drew for the second week running after their late equaliser at Brighton.
Matheus Cunha went close several times for Manchester United, while Harry Maguire and Joachim Andersen both wasted late chances, leaving both sides still searching for their first win of the new Premier League season.
