Real Madrid’s Super Eagles-eligible defender set to leave Los Blancos after nine years
Real Madrid Castilla defender Marvel Antolin Garzon, better known as Marvel, has taken the next step in his career by training with LaLiga newcomers Leganes ahead of an expected transfer.
The Nigerian-Moroccan-Spanish centre-back has agreed to a three-year deal after ending his nine-year journey through the Real Madrid system.
Marvel joins Leganes to cover for key injury
Although the deal is yet to be officially announced, Marvel was already spotted participating in Sunday’s session alongside his new teammates.
His move to Leganes comes as the club looks to replace injured defender Ruben Pulido, who is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to a cruciate ligament injury.
Marvel spent last season on loan at Cordoba, where he made 28 appearances and continued to grow his reputation as a solid and athletic defender.
His versatility and experience from multiple youth systems, including spells at Atletico Madrid, Alcala, and Rayo Vallecano is expected to add further depth to Leganes’ backline.
Warm welcome marks the beginning of Marvel’s new chapter
At the open training session, Leganes fans gave Marvel a warm welcome, forming a guard of honour alongside new signings San Roman and Sebastian Figueredo.
