Nuba stars yet again, as Peace Proscovia, Haniisha Muhameed endure defeat
It was business as usual for Ugandan netball sensation Mary Nuba Cholhok as her side Loughborough Lightning defeated Cardiff Dragons 69-41 in match-day eight (08) of the Netball Super League in the United Kingdom.
Nuba scored eight more (49) than the entire Cardiff Dragons team to represent 89% of her attempts and guide Loughborough Lightning to yet another victory.
Ella Clark and Niamh McCall, who scored 12 and eight goals, respectively, supplemented the win at the Sir David Wallace Arena on Friday.
Victory means Loughborough Lightning, who are second, are just within a goal (161) adrift of leaders Manchester Thunder who have a 162 goal difference. The two tie on points with 21 apiece.
Meanwhile, Nuba extended her lead as top goal-scorer with 374 goals, 56 ahead of her nearest chaser Joyce Mvula of Leeds Rhinos.
Compatriot Peace Proscovia Nwokocha, continued her rise up the charts with 35 goals as her side Surrey Storm suffered a 55-72 defeat to Severn Stars on Sunday.
Proscovia moved to fourth on the list with 232 goals. Severn Stars' Sigrid Burger is third with 316 goals.
The other She Cranes star, Haniisha Muhameed, also featured in Surrey Storm's loss to Severn Stars.
Muhameed sits second (41) on the list of players with the most Gains in the Netball Super League, two behind leader Funmi Fadoju of London Pulse.
Surrey Storm are eighth on the ten-team log with nine points after eight games.
