Group B in the abridged NPFL season caught fire on Sunday following a goal-fest across four centres in the country on Sunday.
A total of 15 goals were scored in four matches for an average of 3.75 goals per game.
Bayelsa put on show at home
The game in Yenagoa between Bayelsa United and Abia Warriors produced the best viewing following a six-goal thriller.
United delivered a special performance to dispatch the Warriors 5-1 to end a run of six matches without a win in the league.
All the goals were scored in a blistering first-half display with Alex Oyowah the star and hero of the day for the Restoration Boys.
Oyowah scored a beautiful brace while top scorer, Robert Mizo, who opened the scoring, was on target again for Bayelsa.
Ikechi Stephen Wisdom and Jerry Alex were the other scorers on the day for United while the Warriors made it a more respectable scoreline with a consolation.
Doma United down Tornadoes
It was joy in Gombe as another promoted side Doma United shocked Niger Tornadoes at home.
The surprise package produced a solid display to defeat Tornadoes 2-1 and move into the top three of the first time in the NPFL
Musa Usman opened the scoring via the spot before Mark Daniel equalised for the visitors two minutes into the second half.
Doma United wrapped up the win when Charles Chibuike netted the winner 14 minutes from time with a well-taken goal.
It was a victory that saw United leapfrog their visitors to move into the Super Six spot.
Wikki turn Dakkada to tourist
In Bauchi, it was a good day at the office for Wikki Tourist following a 3-1 win over Dakkada FC.
Chibundu Amah was the hero of the day after he opened the scoring and netted the winner to seal a beautiful day and win for Wikki.
Jonathan Prosper gave Dakkada hope when his goal cancelled Amah’s 21st-minute opener but it turned out to be nothing but a consolation.
