Nigeria vs Rwanda: Time and where to watch Super Eagles World Cup qualifier

The Super Eagles of Nigeria are set to take on the Amavubi of Rwanda in a matchday seven group game of the ongoing 2025 FIFA Cup Qualifiers.

The Super Eagles return to the field after getting knocked out of the African Nations Championship (CHAN).

For this round of qualifiers, Nigeria sits in fourth place in Group C with 6 points from four games, while Rwanda holds second place with 8 points.

The top teams also include South Africa with 10 points, Benin with 7 points, with Zimbabwe at the bottom with four points.

Rwanda's recent 1-1 draw with Lesotho and Nigeria's 2-0 win over Rwanda in March 2025 set the stage for a competitive encounter.

For Rwanda, a positive result could solidify their position and keep their qualification hopes alive.

This will be the fourth meeting between Nigeria and Rwanda in two years, adding a layer of familiarity and rivalry to the fixture.

The teams previously met in two Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, the first leg in Kigali ended in a 0-0 draw, while the second leg in Uyo saw Rwanda secure a surprising 2-1 victory over Nigeria.

The Super Eagles then defeated Rwanda 2-0 in the first leg of the World Cup qualifier in Kigali earlier this year, setting the stage for a massive return leg clash.

Rwanda unveiled a massive squad for the game in Nigeria as new coach Adel Amrouche included a mix of local talents and overseas-based players.

Nigeria on the other hand will unleash their attacking talent of Victor Osimhen, Tolu Arokodare and Chrisantus Uche to get an important three points.

The game between Nigeria and Rwanda will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2025.

The game on Matchday 7 is set to begin at 5 p.m. Nigerian time at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
